Hello everyone. I have been away for awhile maintaining my site and I have neglected my readers. I apologize for that I will never let that happen again, but this taught me something about myself. It made me ask myself, “What’s My Type?”

I learned that people fall into 2 basic categories, Starters and Finishers. The category that you fall in will have a great deal to do with the success that you will have in this business, or any business. Many people start projects, but how many actually finish what they start?

Starters start a project and remain focused, for a while. Starters get joy out of starting something new. A certain excitement out of conquering new territory. My Dad was a starter. Whenever something around the house needed to be done, he was there. He started a new project once a month, but never quite finished any of them. He was definitely a starter. When things seemed to get a little too complicated, or the “fun” was gone, he lost his ambition and his focus seemed to go in another direction. This is the sign of a Starter.

Finishers on the other hand, may not start too many new projects, but they do make sure they finish what they start. I remember as a child growing up, my mom loved to put puzzles together. She would start a puzzle and she would remain focused on that puzzle until it was complete. She would come home from work and begin working on that puzzle until she couldn’t keep her eyes open any longer. She would retire to the bedroom and she would do the same thing every night until the puzzle was complete. All she would do is eat, sleep and drink puzzle. I thought she was crazy, but she was just focused. She was a Finisher.

What’s Your Type? Are you a Starter or a Finisher? In my experience, I have found that MOST people are Starters and very few are Finishers. I think this will explain why many people fail and why so few are very successful in this business. This business is very competitive and only the strong will survive. Your Survival depends on the type of person you are.

So, the question that I ask to all of my fellow readers is this, “What’s Your Type?” Are you a Starter or a Finisher?
