 Hello everyone.  Today I would would like to talk a little bit about Website Traffic.  I lived in New York until the age of 32 and I HATE traffic, but now I need it.  Anyone wanting to create an online presence NEEDS traffic.  Internet Marketers need Website Traffic, but getting it seems to be the trick.  I’m no guru, but i have learned a thing or two and I am here to share my experience with you.  There are quite a few ways to get Website Traffic and  it really comes down to the type of budget you are dealing with because one form of traffic is free, and the other has a price.

First, I would like to share my experience with Traffic Exchanges.  When I first stepped in the world of Internet Marketing, I was introduced to a Traffic Exchange.  It was Free, but it was a little time consuming.  I would earn credits by surfing other sites and in return my site would be shown to others who were surfing as well.  All the sites I looked at were pretty much the same, somebody trying to sell something, so I guess I was in the right place.  I was getting hits to my site but they were doing the same thing I was doing, just surfing for credits.  How was I going to get anywere like this.  So, I moved on to PPC.

Now, I would like to share my experience with PPC.  This form of advertising an effective way to drive traffic to your site, but you pay for the Traffic.  I was always taught that if you want good quality, you have to pay for it.  Not exactly true when it comes to Website Traffic.  I learned the hard way (and the expensive way) that just because your spending money for traffic, doesnt’t mean your going to get good results.  Actually, I did 100% worse with PPC than I did with a Traffic Exchange because the exchange was free and PPC cost me $100.  My Internet Marketing venture wasn’t getting off to a great start.  So, what did I do. . . . . .

I had to learn how to effectively advertise.  Whether you use a Traffic Exchange, PPC or any other form of advertising to drive traffic to your website, you must learn how to advertise effectively.  Website Traffic is what we all need to make money on the Internet.  This traffic is what is going to make or break us as Internet Marketers.  Whether we have our own product or we are Marketing someone else’s, Traffic is a must. 

I can’t speak for anyone else, but in order for me to feel comfortable I want at least 500 hits per day to my site.  Depending on where you are in your Internet Marketing career, 500 may seem like nothing, or it may seem like a lot.  It doesnt’t seem like much to me because I know where I plan to go with my Online Business.  If you plan on taking you business places, or having your business take you places, your website needs to be sitting in the middle of some heavy New York rush hour traffic.
