Hello everyone, Jason Dunbar back again with a few thoughts on Social Networking. First, I would like to talk about the popularity of Social Networking sites and how they can explode your online business. For anyone who is unfamiliar with Social Networking, I will give a quick explanation of what this is.
Social Networking is a way of getting to network with others on the Internet. In the past, the only way to network with others was through personal contact or by passing out business cards to various individuals. Trade shows has also been a fantastic way of networking with others. The popularity of the Internet has changed the way many entrepreneurs network these days. Being able to network with hundreds, even thousands of other entrepreneurs in the comfort of your own home has taken social networking to another level.
Social Networking has been long used by those who were interested in finding a date online. A person could join a website and create a profile and even upload a picture. Then others who were members of this website could view each others profile and send each other messages. This is how these Social Networking Websites worked. These websites became very popular, and are even more popular now than ever before.
The popularity of these type of websites have created many more of its types. There are Social Networking websites now that cater towards what people are looking for. Some sites are for dating, others are for college students and some are for entrepreneurs. The list goes on and on, but this is where the fun comes in.
Social Networking is a great way for others to learn about you as well as your business. It doesn’t matter what type of person you are or what type of business you have, these sites are great for getting you the type of exposure needed to help you grow your business. Many business men and women use these sites to expose themselves to the rest of the world and trust me it works. Social Networking is also a great way to drive traffic to your website. I am an avid Social Networker and it works fantastic for me, but I do have a word of advice when it comes to Social Networking. Don’t sell anything.
Most people join Social Networking website for personal reasons. Many are looking for friends to chat with or looking for friends from the past to re-connect with. Many people are just looking for a way to relax after a hard days work. They are not looking t be sold. Remember this at all times. People join Social Networking Sites to socially Network with others. Many are not looking for business opportunities. If fact, I would go as far as to say that no one is there looking for a business opportunity and they surely don’t want to hear about why they need to purchase your product or service.
Be yourself. Make new friends. Take your time and enjoy yourself. Do Not be a salesperson. Be yourself. I can’t stress this enough. As I said earlier, people are not looking to be sold, they are looking for friends. Be a friend and the rest will come later.
